The Variable Frequency Drive training system has been designed as a competency-based, real-world industrial applications training package. It includes a comprehensive curriculum and everything needed to teach students how to use the Allen Bradly VFD device.

The trainer is designed with modular components housed in durable steel enclosures. They in turn may be attached to module boards for mounting to ECI's Trainer Panels. The Variable Frequency Drive System can be interfaced with other training systems from ECI. Such integration can be accomplished with the Industrial Controls and the SLC 500 Programmable Controller Trainers.

The Variable Frequency Drive System hardware includes the Variable Frequency Drive Module, AC Drive Inputs Module, AC Drive Outputs Module and Twelve (12) Fault Switches. Some of the other special features include the overload, single-phase and short circuit protection. The forty-eight (48) Drive Fault Interruption functions provide for student safety and drive integrity.
